molar bracket too close to my cheek

#1 Post by Tyrantblade »

It hasn't been irritating until just this week, even though ive had all my 2nd molars bracketed since day, now its like the bracket is trying to actually dig into my cheek and feels almost like its actually getting stuck (it isnt, but it feels that way)

Its only on the top right side

Has any else had a molar bracket start being irritating a while after the wiring getting added on?

Oh yes. It's pretty terrible. I threw some wax on it as needed and it toughened up.

Your teeth shifted so brackets will shift as well...causing irritation where there wasn't irritation before. That will happen plenty through out your treatment.
Offenses: Skeletal and Dental Class 2 malocclusion

Released: 5/24/16

I have a callous where mine has rubbed back there. Now I don't even feel if there is wire poking me!

The pain felt so much worse today, so i felt where i thought it was just irritation ftom a bracket and its a sharp end of the wire, so i guess for the first time since i got braces i will actually use wax and i have an appointment to get it snipped

I went in to get the end clipped, turns out it was just long enough to stab my cheek, but not long enough to snip, so they basically had to grind it down

Now im good, next adjustment around a month away
