Loose wire or no?

I have recently gotten my braces 4 days ago. After brushing my teeth today, I noticed that I could move my wire slightly. I cannot move the wire OUT of the bracket but still moves a little bit within the bracket. In fact, the exact wire on the other side of my teeth move as well. I'm just worried that this movement of the wire will effect if the braces will work or not. thank you for your help!

Call your ortho! It could be nothing but safer now than sorry later.

It never hurts to call your ortho, but this sounds totally normal to me. The first wires you get are intentionally thinner than the slot in the brackets so that there is enough play in the joints while your teeth are crooked. As your teeth straighten out, you will get thicker and stiffer wires. It's all by design and part of the process!

I had the same panic attack when I first got them on, soon found out it's just the wire being extremely flexible, it's very easy to bend.
As you go through more adjustments the wires will become more stiff and harder to wiggle around. Don't panic.
