Bracketing/engaging a deciduous premolar

#1 Post by coriocarey »

Hi everyone.

I'm two weeks into treatment today, six weeks from an adjustment. (Husband is getting his today braces today too!)

I did a quick search and didn't find any info specific to engaging a deciduous premolar tooth. My treatment plan involves extracting a retained canine. The permanent is there and will be moved into the space.

My curiosity is in regards to the premolar. It's structurally sound and will stay, in hopes that in moves vs. extracting and implanting. This tooth is not yet bracketed so I'm obviously going to inquire about the plan on my next visit.

In the meantime, I'm wondering if anyone else has a treatment plan that involved keeping a deciduous tooth?

Thanks!
