...I just need someone to reassure me.

I've had my braces on for almost a month now, and there's been little observable movement. I woke up today and felt my top, right premolar sort of "click."

At first I thought the bracket was loose, but the tooth itself is actually a little loose/wiggly, and I can reproduce this "clicking" by pushing on it with my tongue and then puckering my cheeks like I'm about to blow a kiss.

I don't know why I'm surprised; the teeth are supposed to become a little loose in order to move, right? I guess I just didn't expect to be able to see it wiggle like that (gently with my fingers and in front of a mirror). I also didn't expect a premolar to be the first one to start moving when, all things considered, it's pretty straight -- as opposed to my incisors, for example.

yup completely normal! I was surprised when my teeth did that too.

Loose teeth is completely normal. As long as they are attacked to the wire, they are not going anywhere.

I'm a little over 4 months in and all my molars are getting clicky all of a sudden. In the beginning it was all my front teeth, so every adjustment means some other group of teeth will be clicky and popping. It's very weird but apparently totally normal.

Totally normal, don't worry! I often found the teeth I least expected to hurt/click/wiggle were the ones that did. I think molars & pre-molars are especially prone to clicking, at least in my experience!

I've also usually noticed after an adjustment it would be the teeth directly adjacent to the one that needs to move that would hurt more, which I guessed was because they're moving to create space for the wonky one!

Thanks everyone! It's funny how little I paid attention to any of this the first time in braces as a kid. I can't recall teeth clicking or ever using wax the first time, but I've got a bracket irritating the inside of my lip and causing a canker sore, so I've been going through wax like crazy.

Clicking teeth, canker sores... couldn't have cared less as a kid I guess.

I only have spacers in (braces next week), and I have clicking teeth too. Seems to be normal.

Also, dang these spacers hurt, haha.

None of my three kids that have had treatment ever mentioned the clicky thing, and kind of looked at me like I had two heads when I asked them. Granted, one was 6 years ago so he probably doesn't remember, but my oldest was just a few years ago. But nope, he thinks I'm weird. Maybe adult teeth are more clicky because we've had our permanent teeth for longer? The roots are more cemented so when force is put on them they protest more loudly?

It could be! Interestingly enough, my premolar is no longer as clicky...but now my front teeth are clicking!

I think someone here said that you'll never know what teeth will hurt you or ache on any given day, and I suppose the same is true for clickiness...

The teeth are moving, as they should, and that's just exactly what it is I guess. I'm OK with that. It's what I paid for!

I remember during the beginning of my treatment my teeth were clicky too and I hated that feeling! If I bit my teeth together, I could feel the teeth move back to where it originally was before it came loose. 10 months in and I haven't had any clicky teeth. But definitely still getting loose teeth thanks to the rectangle wire and power chains!!

Totally normal! They become loose so that they are able to live around your mouth. It's so weird to me when they take off the wires and my teeth feel like they could fall off they're so loose.

I have spacers in right now and I am finding my teeth are "clicky" as well. I was panicking because I also have short roots... I really don't want to loose my bottom 4 front teeth.
