Today, I went in for a tightening like every other month. They put in power chains. I told the ortho that when I close my teeth together, the left side has a few gaps. He said that I told the other ortho that I had to wear Class 2 bands (I think thats what I overheard). Anyways, so as I was leaving, he showed me how to put it in from my back tooth to my canine. I also wear the triangles. He gave me 3 packs of rubber bands and said that its for both the triangle and the back tooth/canine. I left and once I got home, I realized that the rubber band pack he gave me is a 3/16 in. x 6oz. I wear the 3/16 in x 4oz. The bands that he gave me are thicker and stronger. I dont know if those are just meant to be for the back tooth/canine because I always wear 3/16in x 4 for my triangle. I took out the new ones he gave me on my triangle and put in my old ones. Im worried that they made a mistake and that its going to mess up my teeth. What do I do?? Should I still continue to wear the correct triangle bands that Ive been wearing for months and keep the new rubber band for the back tooth. Is it even a thing to wear 2 different sizes?? Help! I can't call them because they are closed for 2 days. Thanks in advance

If you don't have any left of the other size I would just wait until they are open again and then call. Two days isn't going to derail your treatment. Are all three bags that same thicker size? He might have switched you but neglected to say anything. If they're not all the same then there might have been a simple mix up. Happened to me, I got two bags, but one was the old lighter size. Just grabbed by accident.

All 3 bags are the thicker size. I have one bag left of my normal elastic size so Im going to wear that as my triangle but I'm not sure if I should wear the thicker one for my canine/back tooth. Maybe he meant the thicker ones for my back teeth and didn't realize that I wear a thinner elastic band. Or it could be that I'm supposed to get more of my normal elastics and he got the wrong size. Not sure what to do.

Seems simple enough to call the office when they are open and ask. Why don't you just call in the morning?
