Metal Mouth Message Board

Hi all,

I got braces about 2 months ago and i really enjoy them and the feeling i get having my lips resting on the braces! It kind of feels like its holding my lips up and It might sound strange but i have terrible anxiety about when i get them off eventually that i won't have anywhere to rest my lips making my mouth look odd. Has anyone experienced this or am i worrying a bit to much?

I think it would help with your anxiety to discuss this with your orthodontist. I'm not sure of the state of your bite pre-treatment, but in general if your bite is off and then made perfect by braces, lips will look better as a byproduct. So I wouldn't worry about it.
