How long until my front teeth won't feel so sensitive ?? I've had my braces on almost 4 weeks now, and most of the pain has gone (thank god) but my front teeth are still unable to bite into things and feel a little numb?

The pain sensitivity comes and goes for me in different areas of my mouth. Just this afternoon my two front teeth are extremely sensitive when they haven't been for a long time.

That said, I still don't bite into anything with my front teeth. I cut just about everything up because even if they aren't actively painful, biting into things is just too much.

So it might be a long time. It also might not be long at all. It's very individual. Just be prepared to eat everything with a fork just in case.

Pssssssh...GOOD LUCK!
I've had my braces since November 21st and my top front teeth have JUST stopped with the sensitivity. The sensitivity in the area ALWAYS come back after an appointment.

This has been a pain for me too... about 3.5 weeks and I haven't even tried to bite into anything. I want a burger! But I feel like I'd just end up with half of it stuck in my braces anyway... :(

Omg I feel your pain! Ive had mine for just 3 weeks and I still have discomfort. I also wanted a burger so bad. I cut it up with a fork and knife and I just swallow it in small bites. I cant live on the mush food all the time. Im glad its not just me. I wasnt prepared for this at all when I signed up for braces..lol

My orthodontist advised me to avoid biting into foods for the duration of treatment - partly due to the sensitivity and partly due to the risk of dislodging brackets.

I'm now 4 months in and have got used to having to cut everything up to eat. This is routine now so it doesn't bother me, although I would like to be able to eat toast without a knife and fork!
