No way i can floss...

#1 Post by dianaioanab »

There is absolutely and i mean ABSOLUTELY no way i can floss. Noooope nope nope, my teeth are so 'tight' right now i can't get the floss in between them, i tried it and the floss just shredded and it got stuck after the first quarter of tooth three times (in three different places). I have waxed floss, not the best out there, but decent floss. Is it really that bad if i skip flossing? I am scared cause i guess it's gonna be at least a couple of months until i get the necessary space between them. And no, i can't afford a waterpik.

If the teeth are that tight then nothing really get in between, except near the gum line. Maybe you should try a water flosser? I have one of the cheap kind you just connect to a tap and it works wonders!

What does cheap mean? The cheapest i've found is around $28.

I'm in Europe but cheapest one was less than that including a rather high 8€ shipping cost. Found it on Amazon.

I use a type of floss called Glide along with Bridge Aid floss threaders. The stuff is so slick it's sometimes difficult to grip it with your fingers, but it moves easily through the tightest of spaces so I recommend it. (Pre-braces I used unwaxed floss.)

I use the same! And yes it's almost impossible to wrap around your finger without it sliding out.

flossing is tough and just a pain in the butt with braces. I despise it. LOL I bought a Waterpik and it was the best investment I made. Works fantastic. I use it all the time. I'll admit since buying it I am not as vigilant with flossing all the time but still try and do it every other day. My kids even use the waterpik all the time too. They think its great.
