one tooth not moving?

one tooth not moving?
So i've had my braces on for 22 months, and my next appointment is going to be for a retainer! The appointment is on August 3rd, and my last appointment was June 21st. The problem is, there is this one tooth that just won't move yet! It's been 3 weeks since my last appointment, and the tooth that HAS to move in order to get them off still hasn't moved! I know it's not ankylosed because it has moved before, but i'm worried it won't move into place by my appointment, even though my ortho made a huge dent so it should move. Do you think the tooth will move like it should?
Re: one tooth not moving?
Of course no one here except for the occasional orthodontist who wanders in can say for sure. I can say that in my case I had a slight relapse (slight gap between two upper front teeth) on the day I was scheduled to have impressions made for my retainers. I couldn't believe it. The tech is removing the archwires, powerchains, closing coils, and God knows what other hardware he had in there and then looked real concerned and said the dreaded "Uh oh, I better go get Dr. S." It was all I could do not to jump up out of the chair. Anyhow, the ortho peeked in, said no problem, and proceeded to apply wire ligatures around both brackets and pulled the teeth together. Needless to say that was an "exhilarating" experience, pain-wise. But it did the trick, and my Vivera retainers have worked wonderfully. He had impressions made, removed the wire, and the teeth have been good ever since. So, bottom line, they do have some tricks up their sleeves and hopefully they can work something out for you. Best of luck to you.
