Retainers vs braces?
How wiuld you compare the two? Im kinda curious because i should be done in September, it was gonna be august, but they wanted to increase the space i had for my front tooth so its enough for an implant (talking a really small difference between the space i had and what they wanted it to be, something like .2 or .3mm), but im also kind of worried how i will exactly pay for the 2 implants (1 is for a molar) and if i will be able to find somebody that can work with me on financing the implants a little bit.
Lots of crimes here
1. The upper molars bite too far ahead of the lower molars
2. Missing teeth #s 9, 14, and, 29
3. Open bite
4. Upper midline left of center
5. Lower midline right of center
6. Upper and lower teeth not straight
Sentence - 24 months, turned to 27 month.
Braces removed since 11/06/17

Re: Retainers vs braces?
I found braces to be easier...
The issues with retainers is the same as invisalign. You take them out frequently and then you have to remember to put the back... braces are just there... And also because of that I thought braces were more comfortable.
I will say that depending on the type, the clear tray kind are almost undetectable (except for the small lisp)

I got over the slight lisp in a few days with my Essix. I can't tell if they're in my mouth anymore. They just feel very smooth. They were miles more comfortable than braces. You have nothing poking your cheeks and there's no pain.

Re: Retainers vs braces?
I should rephrase... I wasn't diligent enough in wearing them so they did hurt because things had moved. I didn't wear them because I took them out for my morning coffee that I finished around 11 and by then would figure it was close to lunch hour and then snack at 2 and then before I knew it, I hadn't worn it all day...
Here I am going for my consult to go back into braces... but again I didn't mind the braces as much as the effort the retainers take... I'm hoping that I'll do better or maybe go permanent this time....
