Had my final adjustment, but a space returned

#1 Post by megz0501 »

I had my final adjustment a couple days ago. Now a small space he had closed on my bottom teeth is opened back up some but just since my last appointment. I'm supposed to get my braces off at the end of this month. I'm wondering if that will close back up? Do I call him? I don't want to go in and think I'm getting them removed and then he say oh there's a space there and so I'm not removing today. I'm kinda freaking out. Will this space close up again before my deband?!

I think most people on this forum will advise you to make sure you are absolutely happy with the result before getting your braces removed. Small spaces can be closed quite easily whilst your braces are on but can be really annoying to you after they are removed if you do nothing about it. Retainers can, to some extent and in some circumstances, produce some small movements but this is something you will need to explore with your orthodontist.
