Hi
I have had my upper braces for nearly 12 months - I have a deviated midline (3mm) and I am unsure whether the orthodontist is doing the right things to correct it.
We are trying to move my midline to the left by 3mm --> she is just trying to move the canine to the left (which has moved slightly) and only then would she try to move the other teeth - this infuriates me as I am supposed to have the braces off by December and clearly (to me) this cannot happen as this canine tooth hasn't moved at all in the last 4 months.
Does anyone else have issues with their midline, and if yes, how long did that take to correct?
Thanks.

Re: Midline shift - very slow movement
I don't have a midline discrepancy, but I have extraction gaps to close. My ortho also took the "divide and conquer" approach when moving my front teeth back. He moved my canines first and then moved the rest. He told me that if he tried to move all the front 6 teeth together, nothing would move. So maybe that's also what your ortho is doing. I don't remember how long it took for my canines to move, but it was slow too, my right side was even slower than the left side, but I have started to see gaps, so I know it's progressing. Is there space for your canines to move?
If there is, then maybe your teeth just needs a little time like mine. Perhaps raise your concerns with your ortho and see what she says?
