Braces due to come off but I'm not happy with results
Hello all,
Looking for some advice/ reassurance that my issues with my teeth are not all in my head!
I am due to get my braces off after almost two years treatment and i am filled with anxiety about it. I am not happy with the final outcome, and I feel that my two front teeth still protrude and are still slightly rotated. I'm not expecting miracles as I know I have odd shaped front teeth following previous dental bonding after a tragic roller skating accident in my teens!
I am nervous to bring up my concerns with the orthodontist as I hate complaining and my appointments with him thus far are always quite rushed, and in a room filled with other patients. I guess I am just wondering how to approach this, and whether to get a second opinion.
Thanks for any advice given!

All is perfect in my opinion but if you want you can ask the orthodontist to wear some Class II elastics to finish with a slight over correction. Have you been treated with premolar extraction?

Maybe ask to speak in private, and explain your concerns before getting de-braced. I personally, cannot see any obvious protrusion from the front. Your teeth look good to me, but it is you who needs to be happy with the results. One thing for sure, if you don’t ask you don’t get! So make sure you get heard. Good luck!

I don't see protruding, but I can see the two incisors not 100% even... One is slightly rotated compared to the other in the second picture.
Since you never complained, I think complaining the first time never hurt...

Just wanted to point out that your midline is on point!
But back to your concerns, I can see one incisor slightly rotated. Pretty sure that's a quick fix. You really should bring it up to your ortho. Of course, how you bring it up matters and you shouldn't think of it as a complain. Just ask your ortho if the other incisor can be rotated a little to make it look more even from the front. As for the protrusion I personally don't see the protrusion either, but I suspect there may be limitations on what can be done on that if there isn't any space.

Re: Braces due to come off but I'm not happy with results
Same!
I got my braces off at the end of October with one top central incisor still slightly rotated. very similar to yours (same tooth exactly), probably a little worse, actually. I had to be debraced since I was leaving the country fpr the winter and was already a few months past my expected end date. My ortho, bless his heart, tried all kinds of things to get that one tooth to rotate completely, including wire bends (twice), bracket re-positioning, wire ties, etc. It certainly improved, but ultimately, I would probably have had to stay in braces for six months longer for perfection, and that was not possible in my situation. It might be in yours.
One thing he did do, though, and yours might do the same, is have a Essix retainer made that would provide some extra push on that tooth to help rotate it. He also made me one with the exact position of my teeth the day I got the braces off, but he wanted me to wear the first one (unless it broke or got lost). No extra charge, which was very decent of him.
I can't see that the Essix has made the rotation better, but it has prevented any relapse, since I know that tooth wants to go back to being more rotated than it is, like it was before I got braces. So I do think it has helped. Maybe this would be a solution for you, if you really want to get your braces off now. Here's how my teeth look, btw. Not perfect, but I'm okay with that. At my age, 57, nothing about me is perfect...lol!

You look great. It's a very natural look and good looking teeth. Just one opinion!

Mine will soon come off too (2 years in feb and I hope it will happen before) and I'm not happy either. I wish mine looked like yours.
I know there is a limit for each person for how good the teeth can possibly look, but I just feel I've seen sooooo much examples of horrible teeth and crowdings and they all come out perfect after braces.

Don't be Bluey!! You've got beautiful teeth.
I agree that you can very respectfully voice your concerns.
My two cents; I notice on your uppers in pic two that right front central incisor (#8) appears to be slightly angled forward. I, myself had pointed out a similar concern to my ortho, who said he could clean that up by shaving / polishing it. I had him hold off because I thought the braces would correct it and it did.
Just say to him; "hey I think my teeth look great but is there any chance we can tweak "x" before we de-brace? "
