6 months into braces and when I compare my pre braces and current lateral ceph x-ray, my airway now is much narrower than before braces... my jaw also looks pushed back a few mm... horrified . I had 4 premolar extraction to correct deep bite, crowding and overjet. I'm now starting sort of a reversal process for my bottom teeth by pushing the bottom front teeth out and enlarging the extraction space then pulling the back teeth to the front to close the space. Hopefully that would help with my profile and health.

Would you mind sharing/posting your lateral cephs? Would be interesting to see the before/after.

Narrowed airway has been correlated with premolar extraction/retraction orthodontics.

A unusually high percentage of those with sleep apnea have had extractions.

Please take this survey that is trying to determine the percentage of former extraction cases who get the serious health consequences.
