My name is Elizabeth and i am 15 years old. OMG i am gonna be a newbi. i get my braces on in 14 days i can not wait. i need them really bad. i will have them on "they say" 36 months. i get my impressions in 7 days and then my braces in 14. wish me luck.

Hey betharoo... I think I saw you on another message board once... I'm also 15 and got braces when I was 14, 6 months ago. It's really not too bad. I found that there wasn't that much pain compared to the amount that I thought I'd have. Even when my mouth is "sore" it's not a "hit in the mouth with a baseball" feeling that some describe, but rather a dull, bruiselike ache. The worst part about braces for me is how it looks, which isn't that bad because lots of teens have braces these days. Well, welcome to this forum and good luck!

thanx everybody for posting. well, i get my impressions on in 3 days and the braces go on in 10. i'm so excited. is there any way to make it seem like the 10 days past faster bc i cant wait to get them on lol.

The only advice I can give is to try not to think about it. It's sort of like waiting for Christmas (or other favorite holiday/event). When you're distracted the time seems to go by faster.
Or you could
sleep for 10 days!

lol. i think it would be kinda hard to sleep 10days. and hey i'd miss getting my impressions. so i'll just try to keep it off my mind. lol
