I went for my adjustment today. They changed my ligs and I only have to wear my elastics at night, YAY!
My ortho told me they are going to do some shaping of my teeth to help with my black triangles at my next visit. Does this hurt?

I had some shaping done at my third adjustment (so about three months into treatment). He called it enamel reproximation, and I had it done between my front top teeth. Took a matter of seconds and didn't hurt in the slightest. Also as a bonus the powerchains closed my gap overnight, so my top teeth looked amazing the next day (if I do say so myself!)

I think I'm probably going to need it done on my bottom front teeth quite soon too.

Oh, I'm glad to hear it isn't too bad! Mine are on my front top teeth too.

I had my 2 top front teeth slenderized last Thursday also. No big deal at all. It just felt like the polisher when you get your teeth cleaned, except for the grinded tooth smell (yuk). In fact it was MY idea to do it because I didn't like the way the teeth were shaped, and the the doc said it would eliminate the "black triangle" at the top like you said. I'm very happy how they look now. :D

I had some grinding of a front tooth done at my last adjustment and all I could think of was, man that reeks! What a terrible smell! No pain though, so no worries!

my ortho is using...well I am not sure how it's called a paper with a sand (looks like DIY thing  ) and I had it done twise already...probably couple of more times in front of me. It does not hurt, I guess if they start using something more mechanical it might be unpleasend but this paper is really ok :D
