OUCH!!!!! first adjustment

#1 Post by hairhead22 »

OK i went to the ortho today for my first adjustment and he had to replace one of my bracets because it fell off. Well I'm new to this whole braces thing but all i know is this wire he put on is one thick MFER *pardon my french* I asked him WHY so thick he said , i think it is what he said, and archwire 22?? he had to crisscross the bands just to keep from having the bands snap... looks cool though i have to add. But he did say YOU WILL HURT and more than a normal adjustment because he is trying to open up my bite before he can put the bottom on. He said this wire will do it faster than any other wire. I was happy though because i noticed usually the assistants do the majority of the adjustment and my DR did the entire thing only because of how he was putting the bands on....
