J HOOK HEADGEAR

I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD BE GETTING A J HOOK HEADGER AT MY NEXT APPT. DOES THE J HOOK FASTEN DIRECTLY TO MY ARCHWIRE OR DOES THE ORTHO HAVE TO PUT SOME KIND OF NEW HOOKS ONTO MY WIRE SO THE J HOOKS CAN FASTEN TO IT. DOES ANY ONE OUT THERE WEAR ONE LIKE THIS?? HOW IS IT? HOW DOES IT FEEL?

hi, sorry can't help you there i wear a reg facebow for my combination headgear
braces off 1/31/08 wearing bonded retainers with a nightsplint, will get removable hawleys 2/21/08

hi, I've got j-hook headgear.

My first set of headgear, the ortho welded little wire hooks to the archwire and the j-hooks attached to those hooks. The kind I have now, the hooks attach directly to the wires, they attach right in front of my bottom canines.

As for comfort, its not to bad, I guess, my biggest problem is drooling at night with it on.

tech chick can u post some pictures of it because im getting hooks on my wires and i dont know if i need headgear?

Sorry, I didn't take any pictures when I had to wear the hg. I've been free from headgear for about 6 months now (thank goodness).

When I first posted in this thread, I had hooks welded to the wire, but once the hg moved my teeth back far enough they attached the hooks directly to the wire its self.
