Ligs on all but one...

I've been meaning to ask this for a while....Does anyone know why I've got ligs on all the brackets, apart from one?
I've got the 2 coils going across, where my canines are due to come down in the space, and I've got a wire tie on one side only, but ligs on all the others.
Did that make any sense?! LOL!
I could understand if there were 2 ties at the end of each coil, but only on one? Just seems odd!
Any theories much appreicated!
Take care

Could be the tech just forgot... I got home one time to find that a bracket just in front of the molar bands had no ligature. I called to ask and she said, "whoops... can you come back in?"
Thankfully, I had some ligs I'd gotten from them just before a big trip so I didn't have to drive back in.
Now she hands me a mirror after every adjustment in case I spot something wrong or I have questions.... Or can't stand the color I picked.
Turquoise is taking some getting used to.

Hi Metal Mouth Guy,
Thanks for replying. I don't think they forgot to put it on... the wire tie is way too deliberate... there wouldn't be room to put a normal lig on top of it etiher. I've peeked under the other lig on the end of my other coil and there's definitely no wire tie on that..... You may sort of have a point though..... Maybe they forgot to put a wire tie on the other one, and put a lig on instead! God, I hope not! LOL!
Yeah, I agree with you re- the lig colours.... I originally went for purple and hated them.. When my bracket fell off after a week I begged them to change the ligs to tooth coloured ones! Each to their own... some people love colours.... I think it has a lot to do with what your skin colour/tone and hair colour is.... that can make a big difference as to how they look.
Thanks again
Take care

i dont have ligs on three teeth, but that is only because i have bumpers on them to keep me from biting them off, and i have one lig on another tooth because she couldnt get it to stay on cuz of the wire tie because i have rotated canines. i have five bumpers in all, they arent fun, i cant bite down all the way, SO ANNOYING!!! But as for the lig thing, i dont care cuz mine are only on the bottom back, and oh i forgot i just got my bracket glued back on today, it popped off the day i got my braces, because the wire was too tight on my right canine, which is really rotated, so the pressure popped the little sucker right off, LoL. well good luck with the lig thing, you might just try calling to ask why there isnt one of there.....i dont usually try to ask questions, i always feel like i'm butting in you know? well this post has officially turned into a short story so i'm gonna cut it short now!! TTYL ( talk to you later )

As long as the wire is still staying just fine it should be ok without the lig. I have an impacted tooth that just got a bracket and so they can't put a lig on it yet so it looks kind of funny but oh well. I'm kind of confused about the wire ties. What are they exactly?
Good luck with the rest of your treatemnt!

I have 4 of my front teeth that don't have ligs, and one of my front teeth doesn't even have a bracket on it. But, unlike other people.... I know why. My mouth is too damn crowded and there's no way a wire would stay in the bracket properly when it's sandwiched between 2 much higher teeth.
I would guess one doesn't have a lig on it because it A - doesn't need to move, or B) it would cause it to move improperly if it was attached.

Hmmm... Different brackets obviously. My tech was able to hang a lig on top of the one wire-tie I've had. She didn't do it for appearance, but more to keep the end of the tie tucked out of the way. At least that's what she said.

I guess I'm doing colored ligs out of boredom. Or not giving a rat's butt. Not really sure. It's not like metal brackets are discreet. Started with silver ligs. But have tried dark green, dark blue, red and now turquoise. Probably won't do the dark green again.
Just goes to prove that growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional.

....... I'm going for my first adjustment next week, so I'll let you know what the lig/wire tie issue is all about!! Hopefully it was deliberate!! LOL!

Metal Mouth Guy, you're saying that you have the ability to put on a lig yourself? You have a special tool?
