Metal Mouth Message Board

My ortho told me to stay away from any sort of whitening toothpaste since it won't whiten the part of my tooth where the bracket is....but my teeth look really yellow since having my ceramic braces put on. Anyone have the right answer? I've read on some of the posts that people are using whitening toothpaste.
Also...since this is an adult board...does red wine stain ceramic braces? Just wondering since I'm having a glass right now =)
