Help! first day with quad helix; questioning my sanity!

#1 Post by Painfulvanity »

This is my first visit here and my first day with a quad helix. My tongue is very sore and eating is almost impossible. I am hoping, make that praying, that this pain will subside soon. I cannot imagine eating normally and I need to wear this for six months! Can anyone offer me any hope that things will get better. I am thinking I may have made a huge mistake. Any words of encouragement and/or experiences with what I am beginning to feel is a torture devise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Cindy

This too shall pass.
I wore my quad helix for only 3 of the 6 months the ortho said I would wear mine.
Your tongue will start to feel better in about a week but eating will be a challenge until it comes off, sorry to say.
Just bear with it, it's worth it in the end.
Good Luck!
