How long did it take for your gaps to close?

#1 Post by braceface2005 »

I got 3 teeth removed on Oct. 20. Now I am wearing bands to close the bottom spaces. How long did it take for your space/gaps to close? I will get my brackets and wires on the bottom once the spaces close as much at they can.

It depends on how they try to close them I think. Some gaps, depending on size, can close within days, others take months.

Not sure what kind of gaps you're referring to but I'll let you know when my main ones get going. It's been 6 months and others have closed, just not the ones I REALLY want to.

I had 2 upper teeth pulled, one on each side, so my front teeth can move back. They have been using power chains and I wear the rubber bands at different stations on my teeth 24/7. I have had braces on for almost 2 1/2 years now and the gaps have been there for about 2 years. There is still about a 1/4 inch gap. I will probably be wearing these for another year I bet. :?

The gap in between my front teeth closed up in a couple hours! My ortho put powerchains on and it closed it BEAUTIFULLY! I love my smile now without the space... it's just the pain that sucks now!

I'm jealous! But you can keep the pain part. ;)
