braces on! yea!

#1 Post by dena »

Today is seriously one of the coolest days of my entire life. I say that as my teeth are being yanked around by my new braces and causing a headache!

I got my braces put on about 2 hours ago. So far, so good. :D I was really happy with how quickly it was done. And, my ortho said I should see movement by my next appointment, which is just unbelievable! It's so weird--I have waited so long for this day and it's here...I almost don't know what to do with myself!

Well, I do know...I'm going to put on my jammies, undertake the arduous process of eating and cleaning, and lay on the couch. 8)

It's totally funny, too...I look completely different and yet the same. And, I feel myself doing all those little lip stretches people with braces always do...I finally understand first-hand about metal poking into my mouth!

One other good thing, too--since I just got my extractions two days ago, I was still sore when I left this morning. However, now that the braces are on, the extraction soreness has taken a back burner and I don't even notice it anymore!

Hola Dena!
I also love your attitude, follow the advices from the people in the forum as KK (salt rinses and lip wax) and try to enjoy the disconform the braces do.
Un beso!

Thanks everyone! So far, it's going well. I'm still really sore from the extractions and the braces, but I'm taking advil and using the wax. It's helping.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!
