Canine Exposure Appliance?? -- link to website on Exposure

I had an appointment at my ortho today and it looks like after my next appointment I can schedule my oral surgery to expose my canine and also an appointment to get fitted for an appliance. My question: Does any one know the name of this appliance? She showed me a model - it has bands to fit around back molars and then a wire with a loop on it that is attached to the canine chain that is to help pull it down. I am curious as to what this is called.

Also in my Google attempts to find a picture of one I ran across this website. Thought those of you dealing with canine exposure might be interested:

Thanks for the replies. The picture doesn't look like what the assistant showed me. It has the same shape as the nance but it has a small arm on the side that hooks to the chain that will be attached to the bracket on the canine. At my adjustments they would push the arm down to pull on the tooth and it would slowly go back up. I didn't think to ask the name of it. I was just trying to find some information about it online. The oral surgeon said he was going to put in a metal implant to use to pull with instead of using my teeth? So I am not sure how this all fits together. Didn't think about any of this while I was there.

I will ask at my next appointment. Maybe I will bring my digital camera long and take a picture.

I will let you know what I find out.

I'm really curious about your treatment. One of the biggest problems with pulling in my canine has been finding a good place, and a good method, to anchor the chain, wire, or thread that is attached to the tooth. It seems like every orthodontist has a different tool for this.

I will make a point of updating you on what my ortho does and my progress. I will attempt to get pics too. I have been trying to take pictures of the inside of my mouth and they are either too dark or blurry. I think I need an assistant other than my 12 year old

. Maybe something he does might be something new to try. I have my next appointment in 3 weeks. Do you think my oral surgeon would take pictures for me of the surgery??

They already think I am pretty goofy because I am so excited about my treatment.
