Lower splint? Like essix retainers but not...

#1 Post by wiredagain »

I only have braces on my uppers because I couldn't afford to have both and my bottoms were perfectly straight.

My ortho just gave me a retainer type thing for my bottoms which he called a splint. They are connected to my uppers by elastics and improving my bite (generous of him as theoretically I'm not paying for this).

But they hurt so much to take in and out to each. They have to be tight so they dont spring out with the elastics. But being so tight they hurt so much to remove and insert. Painless once they're in to be fair.

No advice wanted really, just they hurt hurt hurt!
