My Ortho chipped my tooth!!!

#1 Post by SteveO »

Eek! My palate expander came loose so I made an emergency appt. with my ortho for this morning. The asst. ortho had a hard time taking it out, and it hurtttttttttttt after it finally came free... I heard/felt a crack and asked her if it chipped my tooth, she said no. Anyway, I looked in the mirror tonight and it looks chipped!! I'm definately bringing it up with their office, but what do you think will happen? Can it be bonded? It was a tip from one of my molars. I kinda feel bad cause she's really nice too! :(

I worry sometimes that is going to happen to me when they seem a little clumsy working in my mouth. I would call the office and leave a message for them to please make a notation in your file that you have a chipped tooth since your appt there that way it is noted in your file soon after your appt. I'm sure your dr. can easily buff out the chip but I sympathize with you.

Chips can easily be bonded, don't worry. Now if he knocks OUT a tooth, I'd have a major coronary.
