Once brackets come off & debanded, how much time in between de- braced & retainer going in?

I think it may depend on the kind of retainer you have.

My son had a clear one ( not sure what its called) they took the brackets off and did impressions in the morning and we had to come back in the afternoon to pick up the retainers.

I think it also depends on if your ortho has a lab in their office to make retainers themselves or if they have to send out the impressions to a lab.
