Okay so after much ado, including the prior palatal expansion surgery and the most recent pre-surgical splint (for the TMJ and which I may note is a huge pain still even though I've had it for an entire month), I am headed off tomorrow morning at 5:30 for my upper and lower surgery. If someone told me that I would be having these surgeries done almost 22 months since I started this process, I would have cried at the amount of time it took, but now 22 months in, I'm thinking I need more time to be prepared for this surgery. But I suppose (after reading all these exceptional posts) that if I wasn't the least bit nervous, something would be wrong.
So I'm off now, see you all on the flip side with my jaws as they should be. Thanks all for the imparting of wisdom, you have passed to me.

Well I made it through to the other side. The surgery went really well. My OS is ecstatic (that's always a good sign I think). Only one mishap at home. See I've always had bad allergies and my parents (whom I moved back in with) live in this old old manory house, yep you guessed it I couldn't breathe... at all. So Parents moved me out within the hour (apparently I caused them and the OS quite a scare) but now I relish the invention of central purified air.
I'm now banded shut and today is my first day back at work. (I'll let you know how it goes.) And granted although I wouldn't relish the thought of scarfing down a full rack of ribs, the whole liquid diet isn't that depressing. The only thing I'll note for futurees and I guess other currents is that ice cream and such is really really creamy and quite phleghmy to boot. It takes a good wash down with some water to get your mouth back up to clean working order. For some reason that caught me off guard.
I'm off to eat elevensies. I always knew Hobbits had the right idea on daily food intake.

Sounds like you've done fairly well with all this, actually.
After my Sarpe I had almost Zilch dairy products--and I had no trouble w/ phlegm.
But I don't know about Lefort. Maybe you have it no matter what.
