Hi Renden,
Sounds like you have had a tough time what with the vomiting blood and boredom, but at least you are now home and can keep amused while you heal.

I have heard that the bone grafts from the hip do cause more pain than the jaw op - but it will get better. Also it is great that you already have most of the feeling back in your face.

The pics are great - you can really get a good idea of what's been done - the changes are incredible.

I am due to have surgery in London sometime early next year for an underbite - the initial plan was Lefort I and genio, but now there is talk of Lefort I and BSSO?? - not sure until my teeth move a bit more what they will do, but as we all do, I have to leave it in their capable hands!

I hope you keep improving and before you know it that nasty splint will be out - you're already almost one week down!!

Hey Renden welcome to the otherside, sounds like you had a pretty rough ride though! Your pictures are great, are you happy with the results so far? Having to put up with the splint and graft site must be really crappy but at least it's all done now!
Here's to a really smooth and quick recovery :-88

Take care and no more cat surfing!!!

I can't say about the results so far as my face is still really swollen, but my my teeth actually meet now, no more underbite!

Let me get this straight, the bone graft came from your hip to your jaw?

Wow Renden, my heart goes out to you. I also had a bone graft from my hip and I had no pain there whatsoever. Didn't bother me at all.

When I was in hospital after my surgery I had an NG tube. It's a tube that goes down your nose and all the way to your stomach. It sucks out all the blood and whatever is in there so that you don't vomit. I hated it! I complained and asked the nurses to take it out but they wouldn't. Well now I know what could have happened if I didn't have it!

I hope your recovery gets easier soon!

P.S. Your profile looks great.

Thanks for sharing your experiences and photos. What an unfortunate experience early on, but your results are positively amazing so far--- even with the swelling!
