Well I have a date for the splint removal! January 7th! It's unfortunate for me that my ortho and my surgeon are both taking "breaks" right around when I need it out. Better for me I guess, less of a chance of the set of impressions they are using for the trans palate arch "ripping" my upper jaw out. I guess they were scared about that. That'll make two days shy of 8 weeks.

Okay, 7 January, that's close!!! Christmas will come and go before you know it, and then yippeee, it will be off! Start your countdown. Good luck, it's really only a matter of days now, Mike. mmh x

I can totally relate to the relief of having an upper splint out. I had mine for 6 weeks as my palate was widened along with upper and lower jaw surgery. Luckily my surgery was in the summer when I wasn't teaching. The speech thing was difficult with the splint, swelling, inability to open wide, etc. Enjoy now that is out!!!
