I've got a De-brace date!

#1 Post by Rach »

Went to the ortho yesterday and he said that we should make two appointments, one in a months time then one for the 6th June at 9.30am for

Getting my braces off!!

I cannot wait! Even though I've got an exam that day. And I am going back in the afternoon for the retainers, I had no idea they could make them in the space of 7 hours!?

But I don't care cos I am so happy :D

Congrats Rachel! And yes, if your ortho has an in-house type operation, they can make essix retainers in about 15 minutes. One of my close friends got her braces off, had impressions taken, and was told to come back in about an hour to pick up her retainers. It certainly doesn't leave much time for relapse!

Hey thanks everyone for your replies.
I am really excited and its before my prom, 18th birthday when I go on holiday and now I'm going to the Reading festival in August so I cannot wait to show off my new smile!
My ortho always projected 'a few months' after surgery that I get them off so its great were on target!
And I will post pics when the day comes. :D
Clairet- we've been on very similar timelines, with surgery and now de-bracing!
I know theres a section for retainers and that but I hope there not too much of a pain, do you get used to them quick?
