maximum setback

#1 Post by Von »

Hi everyone,i want o know how much is the maximum setback in BSSO,without doing the upper jaw?And are there more risks if doing for big movement than small? I have also heard that IVRO is used for large setback, but the main disadvantage is that you are wired shut? Can anyone tell me about this method cause i cannot find much info.

I had a setback last wednesday, I was told he moved my jaw back 9 mm. Im not exactly sure what the procedure was called...though I am wired shut, but its not that bad, the most annoying thing is being constantly hungry. In my OP, my OS made 2 cuts right infront of each ramus and moved the bone back, and corrected my cross bite. He did not put any screws or plates in, the only thing really holding it together, besides all the soft gush, is the elastics banding my mouth shut. so my jaw is just kinda just waitig to heal.
