Consultation w/ Oral Surgeon!!

I have an underbite and I want to get surgery to fix it so I called the UCLA Oral Surgery department. I have a consultation with the oral surgeon on Jan. 16. Question, should I go to the orthodontist before I go to the oral surgeon? Does it really matter?
