Anyone else ride horses? How long until I can ride again?

I haven't asked my doctor yet, I will at my next appointment. I forgot to ask him today at this one.

I had surgery November 6th, Lefort 1. Everything is healing as it is supposed to.

But, I want to know if anyone here rides how long it took you to get back to riding?

I actually won't be back around my horses until January or so when we are transferred to the west coast, so that'll be about three months. Is that enough healing time to ride?

My mare is green, but not psycho. She's never done anything crazy, she's pretty level headed. For an Arabian.

Its not a horse... but I was back racing and riding motorcycles in 6 weeks or so. At first the helmet was extremely painful because it put pressure on the joint but a week or two of that and I was good.

I am a fast healer tho.

I am a fast healer tho.

Thanks! I stopped wearing a helmet a few years ago, but after this surgery I plan on wearing one again so hopefully I'm not bothered too much by it

I'm still stuck until January until my husband switches stations and I can go back to California, but hopefully my surgeon will tell me I can ride by the.

I know. I was in 4-H for over 11 years and wore a helmet every time I got on the horse, then once I turned 18 I stopped wearing it except for 4-H events.

I should have learned by now, I've been in the ER twice because I've had crazy accidents and landed on my head - sans helmet.

I was being good with it this year until someone stole my stuff out of my horse trailer

So I need to buy another one, which I will be. My head is too important.

When I ride I always wear my helmet... Helmet have literally saved my life twice... no kidding. Without them I would be dead.

Plus its your own little world in a full face motorcycle helmet... I sing and have a great time inside there... its like a party
