soft tissue changes with maxilla advancement/le fort i

hi folks, wondering what people would say is the most accurate height of the soft tissues changes asscoated with a standard issues le fort 1.

I expect some soft tissue changes but would anything as far up as under the eyes be effected? I'm sure its different for everyone though, but please gve your experience / opinion.

Having a le fort for an underbite, but also have quite a flat / concave midface, wondering what to expect from surgery.

Are changes as far as the blue line most common? or would green be closer to what most people have experienced?

I'm kind of confused, what are you asking exactly?

I just had a Leforte 1 on November 6th, they impacted me about 3/4".

When they do it, the top jaw comes forward a little bit.

I haven't really noticed too much of a difference except my face is a bit shorter, but since my top jaw had too much bone anyways my face is now in proportion. The swelling is still too much to tell what exactly has changed.

I agree with Miss Kitten that the swelling hides the soft tissue changes. It's been three months for me, and I thing that there is still some swelling in my cheeks. I think my cheekbones are a bit more prominent, but that may be because there are plates and screws beside my nose contributing to the puffiness.

well I'm talking conventional le fort here. The middle image meryaten shows is the conventional one; the red line show the cut line of the bone itself, but I'm sure that soft tissue/skin above that line is affected, i.e - its looks like there is more fuller? Sure it depends on the amount of advancement too.

If you are concerned about your face still being too flat after surgery, you may want to ask your surgeon if he can do some bone grafts while he's in there. (My surgeon wanted to do that on me but I said no thanks).[/quote]

I had the middle one done.

I am very full above where I am broken, however it's still swollen. My upper lip is very puffed out along with the tissue surrounding it, which makes my lower jaw/chin look like it's receding because they don't match; it's quite disconcerting and it's hard not to think negatively. I know it probably won't stay that way, but to see it right now is hard.

So until all the swelling goes down, it's hard to say if there will be more changes. My cheekbones are starting to come back because it's going down a tiny bit every few days, though.

I'd look up a bunch of before and afters pictures if you can find them to look at.
