How soon should you see your ortho after surgery?

#1 Post by megs29 »

Hey everyone!

Im due for my surgery in about 11 days, and today I saw him to get my surgical hooks put on..

I asked him when Ill be coming back to see him,and he told me that my surgery is on a monday..he would say thursday I should come back in to see him.

Does that sound about right? What on earth would he be doing to my teeth 3 days after surgery?

I had several visits to my ortho (the first just 4 days after surgery) during my recovery where he just wanted a look-see to make sure that he was happy with the results and progress and so he can further communicate with the surgeon. Chances are that is what he is interested in doing. Good luck!

I saw my orthodontist a week after surgery (both times) for a look-see and an x-ray. At that time, he also changed the configuration of the rubberbands. I saw the oral surgeon after about 10 days, also for an x-ray.
