Well, Ive rang my local orthodontists and briefly explained my situation. I was told that the main ortho man was away until tuesday (tomorrow) and he will call me back to discuss. Its £100 for a consultation. Nothing is clear at the moment to me about what might happen (see my previous post) but at least this is the 1st step towards something.
Looking at some other pics on here, I realise that it isnt just my lower jaw that is set back, my whole mouth is set back, I guess I may need upper and lower jaws moving forwards. Will get round to posting a photo soon.
Ive made the 1st small step

Im going to update on this thread as I feel I want to type out my journey but dont want to bore people with numerous threads.
Well the orthodontist place called me back today to tell me I should go back to the original orthodontist who told me that I should have had my original braces treatment done differently and with jaw surgery. Bearing in mind this was about 20 years ago! And in a different county to where I live now. They said to get a referral from my dentist to see this ortho - Mr Muir is his name. So today I have made an appt to see my dentist which will be on 22 April. I'll be wearing false teeth before I get myself sorted at this rate.
Ive been searching online to see if Mr Muir offers private consultations but I cant find anything on him except for on the nhs hospital website.
Will update again after my dentist appt.

Even though I cant find any info on the orthodontist, there are 2 maxillofacial surgeons listed at the same hospital, so I assume they will work together (the od and the os). And 1 of the os seems to offer private consults. Hmm shall I wait for my dentist appt or call the os. Might call the os to see how much a consultation is, although I hope that wont ruin my chances of nhs treatment (if I would be entitled to it that is).
Hi, I haven't been here for a while due to a couple more jaw surgeries so I am playing catch up.
Hope this helps a bit. When I saw my ortho I paid private for my first appointment as I couldn't stand the NHS wait. I rang his secretary to see if he would see me private for the first time and it was no problem. He works closely with my surgeon so down the line I saw them both at the same time. After my first consultation I went back to NHS but it got the first step on the ladder as I was desperate to get started. Where abouts are you in the UK?
Have only had a quick glance at your posts and see you have had a chin implant and your children may have same problems, are the problems being looked into by your GP? I've just had an implant put in one side of my jaw.
Got to dash for now but feel free to mail me
