Underbite -

Hi,

did anyone have only a lower jaw surgery to fix an underbite?
how many millimeters was your lower jaw moved back?

While I haven't got it done yet my ortho says that is what I will probrally need. She estimates my lower jaw will be moved back about 4-5mms. The best part though, I will only need braces for about 2-3 months prior to surgery as my teeth are nearly in great position. In a perfect world I wouldn't even need the braces, she said, and could just get the surgery. I have a surgery consult on the 28th and will hopefully be braced soon there after. I cant Wait to be underbite Free!!

I have an underbite...I am most likey just having my upper jaw moved forward. There may be a chance that I will have to have both jaws moved, I don't know how many millimeters yet though.

My bottom jaw needs to be moved back 7mm. I have not had the surgery yet. I know that I am having it done this summer. But I wont have a date till hopefully May. Which is not that far away.
