confused between jaw surgery & genioplasty ( pics includ

I had consultation one maxillofacial surgeon for genioplasty. He advised me to go for advancement of lower jaw instead. I don't have any problems with bite ,he started me last year on orthodontic treatment to procline upper teeth to create more space to move lower jaw.(have only 3-4 mm gap)It has been almost 1 1/2 year and upper teeth have not budged a inch .. I was fed up with all this waiting and consulted another doctor , he told me that though lower jaw surgery would be best suited for my case but told me to consider genioplasty also to increase chin height.He told me that it would take upto 9-10 more months of orthodontic treatment before jaw surgery ! . he told me he can consider genioplasty only, whereas the earlier doctor told me that It would make the case worse.

I guess I need about 6-7 mm of lower jaw advancement or chin advancement and 4-5mm increase in chin height.

Can genioplasty make moderate case of retrognathic profile worse and can it be used to increase both projection and height of chin ?
I would appreciate your comments!

I can understand your frustration/impatience with waiting. In my opinion though, a genioplasty alone would not look nearly as good as a lower advancement. A genio might balance your face out and give you that extra chin but your neck/jawline would look the same as it does now and you would be missing a more defined jaw line. Also, it wouldn't fix your bite at all.
