6th day post-op

#1 Post by soleil4716 »

I went to the OD today so that he could do something about the two brackets that have come loose. He took a look and decided not to do anything before next week. I think ODs usually wait a couple of weeks before doing anything. So I had to drive for the first time today and that felt good.

I also started to work from home again. Went through e-mails and attended some meetings. Trying to keep it low-stress for this week at least.

Lower face is still pretty numb. But I have been able to drink from a glass without making a mess.

Hope all you post-op people are doing well.

I agree, getting back into the pre-surgery routine was key for me. I paced myself, did only what was comfortable and didn't over do anything, but I really found getting back to "myself" really helped my recovery and made me feel better. Glad to hear your recovery is trucking along!

Im wondering/asking... How long does it take to get back to pre-surgery routine??

SuperJet, it was a good 2-3 weeks for me. But remember, I had an infection & it set me back about a week.

SuperJet, Good to see that you are recovering well.

How is the sensation in your chin area? My chin and surrounding areas are still pretty numb. Wondering how long it will take to get the sensation back.

My chin is still numb. I keep having tingling sensations in my chin all the time. My stiches in my mouth are now falling out. My lower lip is still swolen. Brusing around and on myneck is now showing pretty good.
I saw alot of my friends today and most could see a difference in my looks. I told them all about mysurgery and they were intreaged.
Oh then we all went out to eat seaood. I had grilled catfish and rice. Oh man it was good. I even had a salad but it sucked. I had to cut it up in super tiny pieces and went straight to swallow. Some things you just need to mush up a bit with your teeth to get the real flavor to get the true taste of the food.

Other than stll eating a liquid diet im doing good.
