Hi Noam,

I would have preferred that you contacted me prior to posting my pictures on another site. Having said that, the intent of my blog is to inform others about the possible side effects of this surgery, so I do not mind keeping this
post open.

Your nose does widen after surgery

#18 Post by mjj929 »

Hi all,

Your nose does widen as the surgeon releases the muscles around your nose during upper jaw surgery (the nasalis muscles which act to narrow your nose). An alar stitch may help but not always.

I have seen plenty of cases where the nose widens dramatically and remains even after the swelling goes down. This may be desirable in people with narrow noses, but aesthetically negative in people without narrow noses. With the blog owner, his nose has widened and his concerns are real.
