Coming up on month 3 post-op..in case your recovering too

#1 Post by projo198 »

Haven't posted here in awhile but didn't want to be one of those that used the site and then bailed so thought I'd drop a post.

Will hit my third month next week.. things are well. Still experiencing the following.

total numbness
akward eating
nasal irritations (sores inside)..
can only open 2 fingers wide
still slightly swollen

Other than that all is good.. I asked my ortho surgeon to order me a mouth gap opener? and he said he would, I try to work it open when I can but often forget.

Also looking at 2 more ortho appts and the braces come off after 10 YEARS!! Most of my hardware is already out, just a few of the frontmost teeth still wired.

So whatever stage your at post-op/pre-op good luck and it gets better!

I am also approaching 3 months. My status:

- things are getting normal
- big improvement in terms of numbness - I would say it is 80%
gone
- I still got some swelling in the cheek area and it is worse in the morning
- I'm eating pretty much everything I used to eat before the surgery
- Still using some rubber bands from the ortho, just to fine tune the bite
