i will be having a bsso and genioplasty done with cheek implants soon. my surgeon really didnt mention anything about correcting my gummy smile though. Is a lefort 1 the only way to go or is there other procedures?

There is gingevectomy, sometimes called crown lengthening. Periodontists do this, also some oral surgeons do it. I had my gums cut and it made big improvement in my gummy smile.. If you research "gummy smile" online you will find a lot of periodontists and photo examples of this kind of gum surgery.

I have a gummy smile and thought it was something I thougth could be sorted at the dentist, but when I went to an orthodontist about my underbite he pointed out that the gummy smile was due to my upper jaw being too long. To correct this I'm having surgery on my top jaw, bringing it up 5-10mm so the gum is no longer visible
