@jdon- I did start with the supplements in liquid form, but after week 3 or so I started taken them in pill form.

:D I'm very excited to report I finally got my pre and post op xrays in the mail today!! I've posted them my blog in a video I made. http://asmileconnectsus.blogspot.com

The song in the background of my movie is "Through The Wire" by Kanye West. He is singing it all while his jaw is wired shut. He talks about having to drink boost and ensure...it's quite amusing :) Hey if Kanye can get through a liquid diet, so can I! Only 2.5 more weeks and I'm on to my soft food diet!

On the 23rd I was in a car accident with my boyfriend. A risk living in such a snowy area...luckily we and other drivers were not hurt, but the car is in need of a lot of repairs. Since the accident I have been paranoid that I have somehow jarred my jaw in some way. The airbags didn't go off, but we did spin (6 donuts) on the snow and ice on the highway and then slide off into a ditch and hit a fence...I know i'm being paranoid because i feel my bite and it feels the same. I just can't help but think i hurt my progress somehow...

I know this post is just a lot of venting, but I have come so far and am so close to a soft-food diet that I just don't want anything to hinder my progress...

I thought that I'd post my 2 week post-op x-ray picture here. I am getting very excited because next week I go back for my 10 WEEK post-op in Santa Barbara, has it really been 10 weeks? I will FINALLY be put on my soft food diet! I cannot wait to have a full belly!!

It is pretty exciting seeing all of the plates and screws!!

I hope you all are doing well in the New Year!

Do you have a pre-op xray you can post side by side?

Wow! Look at the difference. Your neckline is so much flatter and is now horizontal to the floor. I cannot wait to be in your shoes. Well, I cannot wait to be fully recovered, but I would still rather be in your shoes. How are things going now? How's the TMJ?

Thanks,
Ryan

I know it's awesome!! I hope you get your surgery date soon!! I was just cleared to only wear my bands at night and only 1 more week till I get to eat soft food!! WHOHOOO! My TMJ is soooo much better than before. My right jaw still clicks on occasion, but mostly only when I haven't used it much. They said this may go away, and it isn't bad unless it hurts, and it doesn't. My left side feels tight, but I think it will be better now that I am out of bands full time. I am really so excited to be moving forward! I feel like I just had surgery yesterday (time-wise)...I can't believe it was nearly 9 weeks ago!

asmileconnectsus,

I've enjoyed keeping up to date with your progress on this thread. Your results look great.

However the one thing I've been most impressed with is your positive attitude. For somebody to go through bi-max (and a rather intensive one as you did) and a liquid diet for 10 weeks (over the Holidays) and say "it was like yesterday" is simply amazing.

I don't know what your secret is, but maybe you can bottle it and sell it to me before I have my bi-max

Best of luck on a continued great recovery, and I hope you get that "real meal" next week!

hey, I saw on your blog you don't have to wear the bands on the screws anymore. Can I just be the first to say, "Praise the Lord!" I have been really feeling for you about that. It sounded worse than anything else that you've been through. You are really on the road to normalcy, it seems like.

chicago29- thank you so much! Some days I really had to force the positive attitude, but I figured if I needed to go through this I was going to come out positive! I really think it is one of the main reasons I have had the success I have had! Time really has seemed to fly by, although, those holiday meals were torture! ha I am going to make it up next year :)

OhioM- Thank you!! It really was the best news of the new year thus far! I do feel more on the road to "normalcy" now :) !

Today being my first full day without bands on full time has felt weird, like I am breaking the rules! hehe I love it though, my jaw feels very happy and I cannot wait to progress even more!

Thank you everyone for your support!
