Surgery date?

#1 Post by RickC »

I've just been for my usual appointment with my Ortho, and things are coming along nicely the gap between my 2 front teeth has closed and my over jet is down from 12mm to 8mm.

I'm having my treatment on the nhs at wythenshawe hospital in Manchester.

I've got an appointment with the surgeon on Monday to assess things , my question is am I likely to be given my surgery date after this appoinment?

I think it's different depending on what NHS trust you're in.

I'm in Scotland, and from what I've gathered, once the surgeon says "ok, surgery time" they put you forward for surgery but think it takes time to get the actual date. Not sure though!

Good luck :)

Just got back from my appointment with the surgeon, and it looks like I'll be having my lower jaw surgery on 7th September.

I'll have to start a September surgery buddies thread sooner to the time.

Roll on september

I've had the official appointment come through now.
Surgery is booked for Sept 7th and I have to be admitted on the 6th.
The op is on the Tuesday and the surgeon said that I will be able to go home on the Thursday.

All seems very real now, I'll have to start planning things out soon.

That's great news, very exciting!

And surgery after only 10 months in braces... I'm hoping I make the same speedy progress :)

Good luck!
