I'm back, need advice and quick one week to go!

#1 Post by cheekysara »

I am here for advice. In Feb this year I underwent a Lefort 1 and BSSO, the surgeon said at a previous post op appointment that I would need my chin repositioned as well however there were complications that neither myself or my surgeon could have predicted. I lost a lot of blood and had a hematoma blah blah and they did not move my chin. I am not sure if it was due to my complications or not. The surgeon said moving the chin at the time could have been fatal although the surgeon did also say that they did not feel that the chin needed to be moved at the time as my face looked in balance. After asking me how I felt about it at my follow up appointments I was told to think about it and that if I wanted they would move my chin I did not like it. Well I have a week to go and I am having second thoughts. I guess peoples opinions would be nice.

Here is me before any treatment.

The one on the bottom is just a blurry one and looks good. I do miss my old nose though. Now is seems huge and before it was small and dainty. I am not happy with that.

All after pics here. My surgeon says he will move chin for me and put in a medium implant which is 6mm, I was all for it but I am a week away and what with the complications the last time and all my friends saying don't do it I am not sure. The complications they think were due to me taking omega 3, garlic and cod liver oil. too high a dose can thin the blood and since I have stopped taking these there should be no problems.

I find it disturbing that the first time around he couldn't do the procedure because it could have been "fatal", due to your thin blood and/or blood loss. I just had the Lefort 1, BSSO and genio and my surgeon says at most his patients lose 1/2 pint of blood and he had not done a blood transfusion in over 25 years. I might seek a second opinion from another surgeon.

I can't it's on the NHS. I lost 1600mls of blood I think something like that. Had a hematoma and needed to be on a breathing ventilator for a week due to swelling. They sent me to blood specialist and they found nothing wrong but asked me what supplements I had been taking.

You can get a second opinion on the NHS and you definitely should.
Believe me, I had a second operation, which went wrong and I needed to have a third one week later! (NHS)
Have a serious talk with your surgeon/orthodontist.
I know that I will soon be asking how many people have to have their surgeries done again due to some sort of error!
Don't feel pressurized to do it in their time! This is your life and you look great since your first operation.
I seriously, wish I had left it at one operation and had not bothered with more surgery!!!!
