Upper jaw screws protruding/slight pain?

Hey ya'll

I bet most of you won't remember me it's been so long, but I had upper jaw and septoplasty in December of 2007.

I am feeling a bit of a twingy pain under my right nostril in my face, right where I know there to be a screw. Right after surgery and for the first year I could really feel the screws in my face but they've since become less of an issue, but I've never had this happen before. It kind of feels like I have a mouth ulcer in the spot right beneath my nostril on the inside, but I don't think that's the case.

Has anyone, especially those of you who had to get screws removed, had anything like this before? any kind of screw pain? mind, it's extremely mild and quite frankly not even all that consistent, I just am curious to know if this is even related to the screws or perhaps I do have an invisible mouth ulcer that I can't even see.

P.S. No, I have not called the surgeon. No, not planning on it unless it gets significantly worse, since I no longer live in the same city as him and there's no point in driving in unless I know it's really an issue.

OMG I'm having the same problem!! I know you posted this over a year ago but could you tell me what happened? I'm freaking out. Having the exact same issue you had at 4 months post-op. I've already had the lower right plate removed.

Hope everything was okay in the end and didn't turn out to be a loose screw.

man i'm totalling having the same issue sorta kinda. Right under the nose where there was a screw here in the past couple months have been hurtung like a cold sore and numb feeling from time to time. The other day i felt something dangling from my upper gum and it looks like a suture because it is crossed like a piece of thread. I am unable to pull it out it seems attached to something on the inside of my lip/gum line.

I had upper and lower jaw surgery like 11 years ago. i'm wondering if something is coming out. when i look at it in the mirror its a thick piece of thread and my gum hurts mostly to the touch, i guess i need to go to the oral surgeon. its hard to figure out dentis, doctor, oral surgeon.
