Measurement that enables you to qualify for NHS treatment?

Hello,

I have heard that there is a certain measurement that enables patients to qualify for NHS treatment for braces and jaw surgery in the UK. Can anybody please tell me what this measurement is?

I heard the measurement being taken on my intial appointment at the hospital, however, I do not know whether this passes the qualification bracket.
