2 Weeks Post Op - * Pictures *
I'll be two weeks post op tomorrow after having Lefort 1, BSSO and genio. So far things have been pretty good. The majority of my swelling has gone down and I no longer have any pain. The only nerve damage I have is half of my bottom lip and half of my chin. Hopefully that will return. I have a feeling from reading so many posts that my surgeon is pretty aggressive in the recoverly process. For example, my splint will be removed when I'm 3 weeks post op (and I can't wait for that!). Also, I only have two bands holding me shut that he has me change out every morning and also remove to eat (still only blended foods until the splint comes out). After I'm done eating I put the bands back in, which isn't too much of a hassle. I've noticed that I can open my mouth 2 finger widths, but to go any further would be a strain. Just thought I'd share my progress and photos with you all since I've gained so much information from this site.
The first two photos are before and the last two are after.

Not sure what happened the first time.
I'm two weeks post op since Lefort 1, BSSO and genio. The majority of the swelling is gone and I'm pretty much pain free. I'm able to remove my bands during meals and can open my mouth 2 finger widths. The splint will be off in a week and then I can go to a soft diet. So far so good. Just thought I'd share since I've gained so much from this site.

That's looking brilliant, Rodney. You must be very pleased. Thanks for sharing.
I'm a bit nervous that my splint's coming out tomorrow already, when you've got yours for another week and we had surgery the same day. I did only have the lower done, though, which probably makes a difference.
Here's to a continuing smooth recovery

Brilliant results, and you're doing well with the swelling considering you're only 2 weeks out!
I wouldn't worry too much! My splint was taken out before I came round from surgery and I had both jaws done.. my surgeon doesn't like leaving them in because he believe they're "unhygenic". I'm about 8 weeks post-op and everything has been fine so far .sauerkraut wrote:That's looking brilliant, Rodney. You must be very pleased. Thanks for sharing.
