Surgery for around or under 20,000, Laforte 1, bone graft

#1 Post by Wickl »

Anybody have a Laforte 1, with our without a bone graft, upper and lower for around or under 20,000? How do you feel about your experience so far? If you have already had the surgery any thoughts? Are you willing to publicly share who your surgeon is or PM me? Many thanks!

I had BSSO, not Lefort I, but I can tell you that Dr. Dale Bloomquist in Seattle has very low private pay rates. Many on here have used him. I am currently 6weeks post op, and have been thrilled with the whole thing so far. My total surgeon fees, hospital fees, and anthesthia fees were under 10K....My insurance had initially denied the claim, so I did the private pay option and am now fighting with the insurance company...He is a very knowledgeable surgeon and well renouned in the pacific NW. He is the head of the Oral and Maxiofacial Surgery dept at UWash... I am up in Vancouver, BC, and my ortho said he's the only one in the area (meaning washington state) that he would recommend I go to. Both the OD and the OS here in vancouver, knew him and had trained with him, and when I met Dr. Bloomquist he knew both of them as well. I was very pleased with the communication of the office with my OD office here in Canada.

If you want any other info let me know.

You bet!! There is someone else on the Jan thread that had surgery (double jaw, I think) also with Dr B the week after me!! I would say, if you are traveling anyway, he's worth considering.

I had a LeFort I (no bone graft) and BSSO for £6,000 including hospital fees (in fact my surgeon and his assistant only came to a total cost of £1,500, with consultations and aftercare included); however that was in the UK so I'm not sure how useful that will be to you :paperbag:.

Brilliantly. Well I had some troubles with the hospital (terrible nurses, and my surgeon was very unhappy about their behaviour too) but my results are good. Before surgery I had about 9mm of lip incompetence, a very gummy smile (I showed more gum than tooth), a-symmetry which meant I could only eat on one side and a slight overbite. Now all my functional and cosmetic issues are solved and I've been told by one dental professional that my bite is unusually good.
